Hi! My name is Donna Altepeter, Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Graduating from St. Louis University in 1983 with an MSW, I completed a concentration in Community Mental Health. With over 40-years in practice, I have broad experience in a variety of clinical settings, including work with clients with life threatening illnesses who are challenged with loss and grief.
With over 20-years of teaching in the Social Work field, I engage in therapy as I did as a teacher; to partner with clients in learning about themselves and how to navigate change to their benefit. I work primarily from a humanistic perspective, encouraging clients to grow into their authentic selves by my engaging with them, authentically. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as well as narrative approaches. I work with adults ranging from 18-100, straight, LQBTQ+, male, female and identifying as other. I specialize in working with clients challenged with anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief and trauma history.
